Directions
BAANYA BIAMI is nestled by the Brisbane Ranges National Park just west of Melbourne and north of Geelong. As you leave the main roads to wind through the National Park, you will be driving on dirt roads managed by local council and DEECA. Please drive to the conditions of the road and allow extra time for this.
Please note that some maps will direct you up McLeans Highway through the Brisbane Ranges National Park. This is a steep and rocky road not suitable for trucks, buses, caravans and trailers.
Wildlife will also be crossing those roads, especially at dawn, dusk and nighttime. Your car lights can make it difficult for the kangaroos, wallabies, deers, possums and noctural birds to see where they are going. So please drive with more care at these times.
Directions to Baanya Biami from Geelong
Departing from Geelong follow the Geelong-Ballan Road (C141) towards Anakie. Go through Anakie and continue on the Geelong-Ballan Road through the Brisbane Ranges National Park for roughly 10 minutes or 13 kms. If you drive past the Barwon Water Reservoirs, you have gone too far. Turn right onto Beremboke Road (dirt road) which has a sign naming it Stoney Creek Road. Continue along this dirt road for around 3 minutes or 2 kms and then turn right into Marshalls Road. Continue for another 5 minutes or 3 kms, the entrance to the camp will be on your left (watch for signage).
If you choose to follow GPS maps, it may send you up McLeans Highway through the National Park instead. The time is the same, but the road is steeper and rockier and is not suitable for buses, trucks, caravans or trailers.
Anakie to Baanya Biami
Directions to Baanya Biami from Melbourne (via Western Freeway)
There are many ways to travel to Baanya Biami from Melbourne. This is the easiest route to avoid being directed onto back roads and takes only a few minutes longer.
(If you are traveling from the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, aim for Fairy Park Anakie and then follow the directions as above from Anakie).
Follow the Western Freeway (M8) to Ballan. Turn left at Geelong-Ballan Road (C141) heading towards Geelong and drive for 20 minutes or 29 kms. Turn left onto Beremboke Road (dirt road) which has a sign naming it Stoney Creek Road. Continue for around 3 minutes or 2 kms. Turn right onto Marshalls Road, continue for about 5 minutes or 3 kms. The entrance to Baanya Biami will be on your left through steel art gates.
Directions to Baanya Biami from Ballarat (via Western Freeway)
